There is an international shortage of scientists and engineers worldwide, and their numbers are diminishing every year.

The LIA project was created to alleviate this crisis by developing a multiple media initiative to attract young people especially girls and minorities to science and technology.

LIA will harness the power of popular culture TV, music, fashion and even language to create a positive role model for six to eleven year olds.

LIA, the cornerstone of the project, is a 12-year-old Canadian-Hispanic girl with a passion for discovery and adventure, who will open the eyes of the next generation to the idea that the world of technology, with its infinite possibilities, is waiting for them to walk through the door.

Whether racing around the globe to avert an international crisis, or racing to the bathroom to salvage an experiment gone wrong, LIA Cruz captures the highs and lows of the six to eleven year old universe and a very high-tech universe it is these days! While her regular life is humorously populated by a familiar world of friends, family, and the occasional Middle Scholl crush, it is her “secret” life as a member of a worldwide organization that uses technology to tackle mind boggling problems that will capture kids’ imaginations and open up to them a world of invention, creativity and discovery.
